Collection: Worsted Weight Yarns

Worsted weight yarn is the classic yarn weight. When you think of YARN you are most likely picturing a worsted weight yarn. Most of us learn to knit on worsted weight yarn, as it is neither too thick or too thin - it is just right. Not to be confused with worsted spun yarn, which is a method of combing raw fibers before spinning wool fleece into yarn. Worsted weight yarn is a classification of the thickness of the strand of yarn. In the Craft Yarn Council system, worsted weight is a Number 4 Medium weight yarn, typically knitting at 18-20 stitches per 4 inches with US 7-8 needles.
